Plants Goliad Farms has either presently used or has used in the past the aquatic plants listed below. We highly recommend these plants for aquarists.While we used Eichhornia crassipes ( Water Hyacinth) when our hatchery was in New Mexico, since it is not legal to possess in Texas, we no longer have it. The other species we have either used in the past or presently use in our operations. At present our plant filtration systems rely heavily upon Ceratophyllum demersum (Hornwort), Red Mangrove, and Black Mangrove. We continually test new plants for use in our plant filtration system.
