Description
Protomelas fenestratus, Tiger or Tangerine Protomelas, is a cichlid species from Lake Malawi in eastern Africa. We acquired this species from our customer Fish Gallery-Houston in July 2012. Males often reach 20cm (8 in.). Females are considerably smaller. Males are colorful with blue faces and yellowish (tangerine) bodies with black barring. Females are drab brownish-gray fish.
