Description
Protomelas ‘Taiwan Reef, is a as-yet-unnamed (scientifically that is) cichlid from Lake Malawi in eastern Africa. We acquired this species in March 2009 from Ekkwill fish farm. Males often reach 15cm (6 in.). Females are considerably smaller. Males are colorful with blue faces blue and gold bodies, white dorsals, blue caudals, and red anal fins. Females are silvery fish with faint black vertical bars. Juveniles show the adult female coloration. This fish hails from Lake Malawi in eastern Africa.
